À propos de l'événement

Departmental archives of Loire-Atlantique

Plants have always traveled, developing surprising capacities for adaptation and transportation. This is how they were able to escape major glaciations and major climatic events.   With the appearance of man, these movements first accelerated thanks to the first hunter-gatherers before extending over time with the increase in military or commercial expeditions (including triangular trade) up to recent gardeners-botanists. Nantes has thus become a place of introduction and major acclimatization of plants from all over the world on the Atlantic coast. The city of 101 gardens and its region thus continue to shelter an exceptional plant diversity.

A conference by Jacques Soignon: In charge of  mission in Nantes Métropole, former director of green spaces for the City of Nantes trained at the École Nationale Supérieure de Versailles.
