The association Les Anneaux de la Mémoire invites you to a gastronomic, generous and artistic evening for Haiti
Support a cultural and environmental project
It is a historical and environmental project that mobilizes us with our Haitian partners: the renovation of an exceptional archaeological site and the reforestation of its surroundings. To ensure its success, we are inviting the people of Nantes and their friends to a great generous and gastronomic evening, since the great chefs of Nantes, Jean-Yves Guého , starred creator of the Atlantide restaurant, and the famous gourmet pastry chef Vincent Guerlais , takes care of the menu and its preparation. They offer their know-how and their art combined with the excellence of Maison Hebel : they are the first volunteers for this generous and convivial evening.
The law encourages this generosity, since the Anneaux de la Mémoire association has long been declared of general interest and donations allowing participation in this evening will be deductible up to two-thirds of income tax._cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

Enhance, reforest, train and exchange
For many years, the association has forged privileged ties with Haiti through numerous common and concrete projects in the cultural, environmental, heritage and memorial fields. Since 2015, the association has been working with the Haitian Tourist Association (ATH) and the Institute for the Protection of Haitian National Heritage (ISPAN) to develop an ambitious project to rehabilitate a former slave coffee plantation. The Dion habitation is an exceptional archaeological site of major interest. More than a heritage to renovate, this site will become an open and dynamic space, a place of exchange and interpretation so that history continues to enlighten us about our contemporary world._cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
Your support for an international project
Residence Dion - 2017
The objective of this project in Haiti is to promote a sustainable economy in this isolated territory by:
- the construction of an interpretation center on the history (and memory) of Haiti, particularly in connection with the Loire territories and the port of Nantes.
- reforestation and replanting of coffee. The area once hosted plantations, it is now desert, which has a strong impact on fauna, flora and biodiversity. The objective is to reforest this once lush mountainous territory in order to reintroduce biodiversity. The development of food crops and coffee are also a way to reintroduce a local and sustainable economy on the territory by creating employment and income for the populations.
- the training of local populations in history, the preservation of heritage and its promotion.
These ruins, the most beautiful and most complete found to date, are at the top of the Matheux range. This magnificent house is part of an area classified in 2015 as a National Historical Park, under the high protection of the Ministries of Tourism, Culture and the Environment. The Habitation Dion is an exceptional example of a colonial coffee house in Santo Domingo and an extremely rare witness to what slavery was like in these plantations located far from the city.
